JUDD STREET TIGERS 199  all out lost to POTTER STREET 272-8* by 73 runs

Judd Street Tigers were  defeated by Potter Street from Harlow as the curtain came down on cricket at Winchmore Hill for another summer. Nevertheless, a good effort in difficult circumstances. It was revenge for the visitors, who had lost to the Tigers by three runs  back in June in a real bumsqueaker. Continue reading “LAME TIGERS GO DOWN FIGHTING IN STREET BATTLE”

The Tigers recorded their first success since July 1st with a convincing 130-run victory over the Railway Taverners from Crouch End. This was a far better team effort than in recent games, with most of the batsmen contributing and a much improved performance with the ball and in the field. Continue reading “TIGERS ROARING AGAIN”

TIGERS FAILURE TO ATTACK

Winchmore Hill CC Sunday 19 August 2012

JUDD STREET TIGERS 138-5 lost to OLD GRUMBLERS 140-5 by 5 wickets

The Tigers slumped to a fourth successive defeat (all after batting first) at a sticky Winchmore Hill, though this was a far improved performance, the loss due more to lack of resources than lack of effort under taxing conditions. After being restricted to 138 from 35 overs, they had their opponents in trouble at 65-4 midway through their innings before running out of bowlers. Continue reading “TIGERS FAILURE TO ATTACK”

TIGERS HUNTED DOWN

In the heart of rural Essex (more Lovejoy country than Birds of a Feather) the Tigers went down to another defeat despite posting their second best total of the season. In what was designated a ‘time’ game – but in effect turned into a 37 over contest – the Tigers’ batsmen got into their stride for the first time since Dinder Continue reading “TIGERS HUNTED DOWN”

TOOTHLESS TIGERS STRANGLED BY OCTOPUS**

St.Aloysius School Sports Ground, Highgate
Sunday 5 August 2012

JUDD STREET TIGERS 97 all out lost to OCTOPUS CC 99-1 by 9 wickets

Not much of a match report – but then, not much of a match.

Octopus CC easily defeated a weakened Tigers side in a one-sided contest on a showery day in north London. Having to bat first on an artificial pitch after heavy rain in the morning, plus another brisk shower which delayed the start, and being a man short after a late withdrawal, was always going to be difficult against strong opposition.
